Rubrique – Discours: Présentation orale
Concours D’Art Oratoire 2018
February 1, 2018
Dear parents,
The students in the intermediate French Immersion classes will be working on French speeches as part of their Language Arts program. Most of our work will be done in class; however, students might have to do some of the writing at home. The final speech should be between two to four minutes long. If it is sufficiently over or under, it will have to be altered. Most of the memorizing, with the aid of cue cards, will have to be done at home; however, some classroom time will be designated for this.
Some dates to write down:
Plan January 31st – February 5th : Topic picked and ready to start writing (“squelette” planning sheet) in class. Bring research material to class if applicable.
Draft February 5th – 22nd : Your rough copy is handed in to be marked.
Final February 26th – March 2nd : The good copy is typed out and memorization started.
Presentations March 7th – 9th : Speech should be completed, memorized and ready to present to the class.
Parents are welcome to join us for the speech presentations. The presentation schedule will be emailed to parents by the beginning of March.
Two students will be selected at the grade 4 level to participate in the Concours D’Art Oratoire 2018 in April after Spring Break.
